Health Services Ish Day
Residents and Staff are invited to participate in “Ish Day” on Wednesday, September 24th in the various Health Services Departments. Ish by Peter H. Reynolds is about Ramon, a creative spirit who learns that thinking "ish-ly" is far more wonderful than "getting it right". The Health Center will have tables set up throughout the day with a variety of activities
that will help set your creative side free. If you are feeling silly-ish, tree-ish or maybe poem-ish we invite you!
Employee Holiday Fund
Here at Rogue Valley Manor, we are fortunate to have such a caring staff that deserves a generous tip. It has been suggested by some residents that $500 per person be a suggested giving amount. The gifts are confidential and voluntary, and every gift is important. Giving to our employees not only enriches their holiday season, but extends to them a sense of
worth and self-esteem. Write your check to “The Employee Christmas Fund” and put in the box in the US Bank in the Manor. Questions: Betty Root x6855
Pac-12 Conference Games
Pac-12 Conference games may be watched in the Plaza Umpqua Room on Saturdays. We are also in process of acquiring the ability to show them in the Main Manor Lobby.
Science-Works hosts RVM Resident Reception
Join us for an afternoon of fun and learning on October 14th as the Manor goes to Science- Works Museum in Ashland. Executive Director, Chip Lindsey will share a brief history of the Museum, it’s role in the future of the Rogue Valley, and how the Museum is creating programming geared for all ages: children, teens and adults. Afterwards, explore the hands-on
exhibits. Watch for details and sign-up for transportation at the Front Desk.
Blue Zones Presentation
Please join us in the auditorium on Saturday, October 11th at 6:00 pm for a presentation on the Blue Zones- “places that have the greatest life expectancy and where more people reach age 100 than anywhere else in the world”. Presenter, Nick Buettner, will not only speak on the common lifestyles and cultural traits of Blue Zones locations, but will also share his own
experiences from the field via National Geographic photography throughout his presentation. Should you have any questions, please contact Erica Meager, x7147.
